Reading Room
During the course of it’s history the Methodist Movement has encountered many internal upheavals resulting in numerous offshoots going their separate ways.
One such sect, the Primitive Methodists, proved popular enough in Doveridge to merit the building of a small meeting house.
The Primitive Methodist Chapel is recorded in Bagshaw’s Gazeteer of 1841. It remained in use until the turn of the century when it was converted into the village reading room. It is now in private use.
